Peruvian designer Genaro Rivas made waves with his debut menswear collection, A Feast for Crows, showcased in London on 28th July in Seven Dials, London. Fresh from winning The Visa Young Creators: Recycle the Runway award, Genero’s innovative pieces blend darkly poetic aesthetics with a sustainable vision.

Rivas uses zero-waste tailoring which incorporates radical pattern-cutting techniques and manual treatments. Fabric is crafted entirely from recovered denim, emphasizing sustainability. The collection shows hand embroidery, 3D printing, and laser-etched artworks, including reinterpretations of iconic raven artworks by Havell and Manet.
95% of the labor is led by women, showcasing a commitment to ethical creation. The collection is avant garde occasionwear that is very red carpet ready. From fabric sourcing to finishing, Rivas maintains a rigorous dedication to circularity and low-impact production methods, including conscientious water use during textile treatment.

Drawing on the mystical symbolism of crows, Rivas explores themes of transformation and rebirth, reclaiming value from discarded materials. The collection evokes a sense of gothic romance and innovative craftsmanship, establishing a compelling narrative that resonates with contemporary fashion sensibilities.

Accessories are fashioned from discarded uniforms from Lima’s Metro, and standout designs include pieces made from market bag raffia. Original music by Kai Brophy enhances the collection’s gothic elegance, now available on Spotify.

As Rivas debuts this powerful and thought-provoking narrative, A Feast for Crows underscores a commitment to circularity and low-impact production, marking a significant milestone in sustainable fashion.
