House of Kind shakes up the world of women’s fashionable workwear, with kindness and unity at the heart of its vision. Founded by Sonica Beckmann, an England and Wales qualified solicitor, House of Kind is a celebration of women who lead with kindness, strength, and connection. Inspired by a commitment to creating a kinder and more creative world, Sonica established this innovative feminine fashion brand designed to empower women in every aspect of their lives by combining timeless style with purpose.
Based in London, House of Kind crafts garments that enable women to connect with like-minded individuals in business through recognizable design details. Each piece is meticulously designed to foster a sense of community among women who embody kind and supportive values—women who are unafraid to express emotion and wear their hearts on their sleeves while excelling in their careers. The brand’s dedication to inclusivity is evident in its wide range of pricing and sizing options, ensuring every woman finds something that resonates with her identity and values.
Recently launched at the exclusive AllBright members club in Mayfair, London, in celebration of International Kindness Day, House of Kind serves as a gentle reminder to promote kindness—not only towards ourselves but also one another—in 2025 and beyond.
Each garment comes with a tag that lists the “House Rules,” which serve as small yet impactful reminders that promote kindness, integrity, and inclusivity:
Not a Tom, Dick, or Harry but they are welcome too. Ensure everyone is included.
To be in a position to help others is a privilege. Use it. Lift others when you can.
Found a mistake? Fix it. Spend your energy on resolution, not blame.
Integrity is everything. Always do the right thing, even when nobody is watching.
Cheering others on doesn’t lessen your success. Clap, congratulate, say “well done.”
Emotions make us who we are. Show empathy and support.
Protect your well-being and honour your worth. Set fair boundaries.
These thoughtful details capture the essence of House of Kind, encouraging women to celebrate kindness while leading with strength, connection, and purpose.
Sonica Beckmann’s practical experience as a solicitor informs her approach to this brand.
Recognizing the cold and oppressive environment of her former profession, she has bravely forged a brighter path ahead. “There’s an unwritten rule amongst men; they automatically support one another—the old boys club is ingrained and established. It’s not the same for women,” Sonica explains. “Women are often pitted against one another, and it can be challenging to know whether you will be supported. House of Kind provides a way to identify like-minded, supportive women in business through fashion—our equivalent of the old boys club, rooted in kindness and compassion.”
Recently, House of Kind was honored to participate in a London Fashion Week catwalk for PWN London, proudly hosting a charity fashion show sponsored by the British Fashion Council to raise funds for Books Beyond Words and to empower new portraits of women’s futures. In recognition of her efforts, Sonica was named one of the “25 Women to Watch” by Premier Magazine.
The brand’s progress has been remarkable, recently shortlisted as a finalist for the Community Initiative at the Industry Fashion Awards on February 27, 2025. The People, Planet & Purpose Awards recognize fashion brands and retailers committed to positive change. Sonica expressed her excitement: “It was WONDERFUL to be in the same room as all of those established and wonderful designers and retail industry giants. I had a beautiful moment with Lauretta who hadn’t realized that we only launched in November—she was so surprised she had to put her champagne down”. ( Lauretta Roberts is Co-founder, Editor-in-Chief and CEO of TheIndustry. fashion )
I truly appreciate the House of Kind ethos, which is rooted in quality and attention to detail. The brand proudly partners with organizations such as Dress For Success Greater London and Mission Wonder Women Foundation. On March 3rd this year, House of Kind was awarded Retail Partner of the Year by Dress for Success Greater London.
Stefan Pierre Tomlin, English TV personality, fashion model and presenter, also known as “Mr Tinder” is a great champion of the brand. His positive outlook sits perfectly with the House of Kind ethos, so much so they are rebranding him to Mr Kinder. Stefan grew up in a single parent household having been raised by his mother and is a great champion of women.
At its core, House of Kind is Sonica’s way of demonstrating the transformative power of kindness in the workplace while uniting and empowering women through dress. The brand aims to transcend its identity as a women’s clothing line, aspiring to spark a movement of kindness in the corporate world globally. “At House of Kind, we see kindness not just as a buzzword, but as our core philosophy. We truly believe that ‘Kindness is our superpower©’ and want to share this superpower with you, so you too feel empowered in the workplace and beyond,” Sonica emphasizes.
With deliberately affordable price points that do not compromise on quality, House of Kind is focused on building a workplace sisterhood rather than creating clothing that excludes women based on price. The collections, designed in the UK, include the The TrailBLAZER®️ collection, featuring various styles for women at every career stage. These pieces can be beautifully styled with the Foundations collection, providing versatile options for the modern woman on the go.
This has been an incredibly busy year for House of Kind. They have launched online with Wolf and Badger and will be launching in Wolf and Badger, Soho London on May 1st. Additionally, they will debut at 6 Cobham on May 1st and have already launched in Number 44 Oxted and Lucinda’s in Purley, where she first launched.
The D W Inspire Blazer launched on the 15th November, with 10% of all sales going to support Dress for Success Greater London, a charity that empowers women from disadvantaged positions to achieve economic independence through professional attire and interview coaching. Sonica is a committed supporter of Dress For Success Greater London, having made a donation worth £2,400 of new stock.
Outside of launches and awards, House of Kind has been actively participating in events. In March, they opened Warner Brothers’ House of Kind Women’s History Month festivities with a panel discussion. They also participated in the IWD Panel Discussion for The Rotary Club’s Enabling Change Conference, focusing on women’s roles in social impact, and were welcomed into the Rotary Club as a member by the Global President, Stephanie Urchick. At the end of March, Sonica was invited to the House of Lords by Professional Women’s Network to discuss sustainability and business clothing with Sophia Lorimer. Sonica emphasized how fashion and the need to fit in with appearance in the corporate world is so important.
Through these initiatives, House of Kind continues to exemplify its commitment to kindness, unity, and empowering women in every sphere of life, creating a lasting impact on both personal and professional levels.
