Karina Bondareva LFW SS22 shows a bold debut collection of a talented emerging young designer. Karina recently graduated from Central Saint Martins ( CSM ) and as a CSM alumni I love to follow CSM graduate designers.

This alluring designer has a very good understanding of tailoring. Her collection pays homage to Savile Row…. “A Love Letter to The Working Hands of Savile Row.”
Having spent her placement year at Savile Row, London she has enjoyed and learnt from the artistry of tailors at the top of their profession.

After graduating from CSM with a first, this Sarabande scholar has demonstrated her broad range of skills with intricately
crafted pieces that make up the 10 look Ready-To-Wear collection. Karina uses vibrant colours that are contrasting and electrifying.
She creates original shapes with woven pieces and the use of modern and original techniques such as glue guns. She has her own distinctive style with hand drawn intricate prints and larger than life silhouettes.

During lockdown Karina participated in and became one of the winners of Vogue’s Met Gala Challenge, recreating Thom Browne’s iconic gown for Cardi B. Soon after her work went viral, bringing her international recognition.

Bondareva’s original and enchanting designs allow the wearer total individuality and escapism,
“I love the idea of escapism so any chance to create an immersive experience and remove the
viewer from their own reality, I take, even if it helps them forget about their problems for just a
moment.”- Karina Bondareva
