The 2023 BAFTAS were the “most ambitious and accessible night yet” and hosted by Oscar and BAFTA nominee Richard E Grant, who presented the main show, and Alison Hammond, who interviewed winners and presenters in the BAFTA Backstage Studio

Attendees included the Prince and Princess of Wales ( Prince William – president of Bafta since 2010 )

The night ended with the winners for the final four categories Best Film, Best Actor, Best Actress and EE Rising Star being announced live on air. This was a first in BAFTA history as in the past, the full BAFTAs ceremony was prerecorded on the same night and broadcast with a delay.

The 25 catagories include Best Film, Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Best Director, Outstanding British Film, Costume Design and Original Screenplay.

Netflix’s anti-war epic All Quiet On The Western Front was the leader with 14 nominations. The Banshees Of Inisherin, starring Colin Farrell, and Everything Everywhere All At Once, featuring Michelle Yeoh, follow closely behind with 10 nominations each.
